Bilingual Legal Secretary Position

Michael Bula Solicitors, International Lawyers and Notaries, founded in 1985, accredited to a number of diplomatic and consular missions in Australia, offers a unique international, multi-language legal and notarial service in the Australian and international contexts, with timely and appropriate creative and culturally sensitive legal advice, as part of a global network of law firms in popular, difficult and exotic jurisdictions.

The firm seeks a bilingual secretary, fluent in both English and French (with Italian fluency a major advantage) to fulfil reception duties for approximately 1-2 days per week.

This is ideally a 2-year position. Candidates who are available for less time need not apply due to the long training period.

Legal Blogger/Social Media Assistant at Nest Legal

Law student wanted for help with writing blog posts and generating content for social media and other projects. You may work from home at a time that suits you (approx 4 hours a month).

  • Must have exceptional writing skills and communication skills, but also have a sense of humour and entertaining writing style.  You must be able tailor your writing style for different audiences.
  • Must understand the conveyancing process and basic wills law, with the ability to research more advanced topics and, ultimately, generate additional ideas for content.  We don't mind if you haven't worked in these areas but you need to have a good understanding of the basic concepts and how they work in practice. An understanding of Magistrates Court criminal procedure is also desirable but not necessary.
  • Must have good research skills.
  • Must be able to generate simple images/infographics for social media (using PicMonkey or similar).

VTAC Application Assessor

The Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) was established in 1966 to manage the admissions process for Victorian universities. VTAC’s role is to co-ordinate and facilitate the selection process in Victoria, to receive applications and make offers on behalf of these institutions, and generally promote opportunities for study in post-secondary education.

To assist with the increased demand during the selection period, VTAC is offering a full-time fixed contract position from 18 August to 28 November 2014.

Our WR Advisors are responsible for providing workplace relations telephone advice to members on wide-ranging enquiries relating to industrial relations legislation, state and federal awards, and general human resources issues. Advisors identify and assess member issues, provide relevant and accurate advice, and advise members on the full range of consulting services and products that are available to meet their needs.

Candidates expressing their interest should be able to demonstrate the following key selection criteria:
• Degree in Industrial Relations or Human Resources, or equivalent industry experience.

• Basic understanding of employment legislation and the Australian Industrial Relations system.

• Strong customer service skills and orientation.

• A high level of verbal and written communication skills.

• The capacity to comprehend wide-ranging IR/HR issues and communicate them in a user-friendly manner.

• Capacity to provide administrative support to the team as required, for both individual case work and development of member products

Targeting penultimate and final year law students, particularly those interested in obtaining Seasonal and Graduate employment, the Legal Careers Fair will feature representatives from Australia’s leading law firms, government, regional firms, and non-legal employers.
