WELCOME and congratulations to all the new first year JD students.  If you are reading this, you have now successfully logged on to Law Careers Online! We encourage students to visit this page at least 2-3 times a week as new items are posted regularly.

 Through Law Careers Online, you can do all the following: 

  • Book career consultations
  • Access a valuable Resources section
  • Browse law specific Employment Opportunities
  • Stay informed with Blog notices
  • View details of upcoming Career events

At your orientation last week, Angela Edwards, Director Careers, highlighted three key CDS messages: 

  • Start learning about the profession and talking to people - learn about what opportunities are out there and how to get experience
  • Use our careers services and attend the CDS events and workshops
  • Sign up to the mentor program! (information will be emailed to you in due course)

The 2013 National Access to Justice and Pro Bono Conference Student Facebook Competition

Here’s your chance to win entry into National Access to Justice & Pro Bono Conference in March.

This competition is open to all current law students from Friday 1 February 2013 to Friday 22 February 2013. To enter the Facebook Competition, students will be required to 'like' the Young Lawyers Facebook page and submit 200 words or less on the following topic:

“Unmet legal need in Australia means universal access to justice is unattainable - Discuss”.

As a result of the competition, 25 law students will be selected to attend the National conference and participate in various events. Competition winners will have the opportunity to attend the 2013 Conference on 20 – 22 March 2013 as part of a sponsored Student Delegation.
