Federation Centre are looking for an enthusiastic student who will work on a casual basis with the in-house legal team, supporting the acquisitions, property management, company secretarial, tax and corporate finance teams, you will be prepared to assist with any manner of tasks, including:

Paid Internship at National Union of Workers

The NUW is nationally leading the fight to organise thousands of low-paid workers in logistics and warehousing, factories, call centres, food and plastics manufacturing industries.

They are looking for interns to gain experience across various areas within the NUW. These include


Organising Teams - assisting Organisers join new members, and organise them to gain power at work.

Legal Team - assisting NUW Industrial Officers with the legal aspects of Agreement-making and enforcing the rights of our members.

Membership Service Centre - assisting NUW Membership Service Officers advise our members and resolve their issues.

Communications and Research team – assisting NUW Communications and Research Officers with site and industry based organising campaigns.

The internship will run for four weeks starting 20 January 2014. Ideally you will be completing your studies in 2014.

Internship Programme - UN Human Rights Regional Office in Fiji

The OHCHR internship programme invites Melbourne Law School students to apply for opportunities globally, including for placement at the OHCHR Regional Office for the Pacific.

These internships are intended to increase your understanding of current human rights issues at the international level and give you an insight into the work of the United Nations.

Deadline for applications is 31 October 2013 with the placement beginning January 2014.

Please visit this link for all information and the procedure for application, http://www.ohchr.org/EN/AboutUs/Pages/InternshipProgramme.aspx Applicants need to follow the instructions and apply directly to OHCHR Headquarters in Geneva, and state in your application your interest to be considered for placement in the Regional Office for the Pacific in Fiji.

In addition to the procedure detailed on the OHCHR website, you are also advised to send a copy of your application to the MLS Career Development Service on law-careers@unimelb.edu.au by the deadline of 31 October 2013.  You must submit your application directly to the OHCHR and to the Career Development Service.
