As a special offer for law students only, you can now register for to attend one full day of conference sessions for only US$50.

There is a great line-up of speakers from across the profession who will be talking about a range of legal issues in the areas of corporate and commercial law, constitutionalism, human rights and the rule of law, legal and judicial profession and contemporary legal topics. We are excited to announce one of the keynote speakers is the Hon Inonge Wina, who is the first woman to hold the position of Vice President in Zambia. Her passion for community work dates back to the early 1970s when she gave free service to women's movements as a volunteer.

We will also hear from some other engaging speakers, including:

  • The Hon Michael Kirby AC CMG on the topic of Judicial Appointments
  • Pavan Duggal – a must see for any Big Bang Theory fans, he is described as one of the top four cyber lawyers in the world
  • The Hon Chief Justice Marilyn Warren AC on the topic of outsourcing legal services to other jurisdictions
  • Philip Ruddock – former Australian Attorney-General who implemented some policies that were challenging for many human rights lawyers and belied his long interest in human rights.

Apart from the conference sessions, there are many social events that will give you the chance to make valuable contacts. There are two events during the conference to keep mind – the Rule of Law Award which recognises the outstanding contribution of an individual or firm to furthering the rule of law in the past two years, and the Gala Dinner which will be held on Wednesday 22 March.
