For anyone with corporate aspirations, this is a not-to-be-missed opportunity to get some insight about the field from someone who has worked at the top levels of one of the world's most prominent businesses.

Russell Caplan has worked extensively for Shell Petroleum as General Manager of Shell Pacific Islands, Strategic Planning Consultant with Shell International and Vice Presidential positions over Shell sales in European, American and international markets. Russell has also been Chairman of the Australian Shell Companies and the Australian Institute of Petroleum and is a director at Orica.

Careers Office work groups

You may have noticed that the Mentor Program and Internship Program work groups are no longer accessible from the Careers Online homepage.  All the information that was on those work groups has been incorporated into the MLS Careers Office work group – so you only to go to the one central point for Careers related information.

MLS research centre events

The research centres in the Law School hold a range of interesting and topical seminars each semester. These are a great way to meet like-minded people and learn more about a particular area of the law.  These seminars are listed on the MLS events website athttp://www.law.unimelb.edu.au/go/news-and-events/all-forthcoming-events/index.cfm.  (Follow the rsvp instructions for each event.) Students are welcome at most research centre events.

 

University of Melbourne law clerk position

One law student, finishing their studies  in 2011, is required by the University of Melbourne's Legal Services Office.  The casual position will be 1-2 days per week.

Consultations with Internship Program Coordinator

Amy Bohren, the Internship Program Coordinator, will be available for consultation between 12:30-1:30pm on Monday, 1st August in room 512 (please note this is a library carrel). No appointment necessary.

The consultation hour will occur at this time every Monday during semester two, with the location to be advised.
