New! Appointments with the Mentor Program Coordinator now available on-line

First year JD Students. I will now be available for regular meetings with students  on Thursday afternoons, commencing Thursday 17 May. 

Bookings may be made in the usual way via Careers Online.  15 minute appointment" Meet with Mentor Program Coordinator", Melbourne Law School.

I encourage you to book in and to call in and have a chat with me about any aspect of the program. I am always happy to talk with students so let me know how you are going and whether you need any assistance, advice or have suggestions to offer.

All students participating in the mentor program should have contacted their mentor by now. 

 Mentor - mentee agreement forms are due at the Careers office no later than Thursday 17 May.

If you are having trouble contacting your mentor and have made two attempts (phone and email), please contact me and I will assist.

Full Court of the Federal Court - sitting in Melbourne - 30 April-25 May

The Full Court of the Federal Court is sitting in Melbourne from 30 April to 25 May.  A listing of the hearings is available in PDF format in the Resources section of the MLS Careers Office Workgroup on Careers Online.  Students are welcome, and encouraged to attend.

All first year students participating in the program should have contacted their mentor by now. Mentors are waiting to hear from you. If you have not done so, please contact your mentor this week to make an appointment to see them. This is very important. If you are having difficulties contacting your mentor after two attempts (phone and email), please contact me and I will assist h.green@unimelb.edu.au

Remember - mentor/mentee agreement forms are due at the careers office by mid May, unless special circumstances exist. These are very important for insurances purposes so put a note in your diary!

Upcoming changes to the General Skilled Migration Program Seminar

On 1 July 2012, the Australian Government will introduce major changes to its skilled migration program.

These changes will have a significant impact on international students who wish to extend their stay in Australia after completing their studies. International Student Services (ISS) will be co-ordinating a session on these changes and the Post Study Work Visa on 24 April 2012.
