Stepping into… is a paid internship program specifically designed for students with disability, who want a paid, hands-on work experience that is relevant to their degree and chosen field of study.

The summer Stepping into… 2014/15 program is now open, with over 50 internship opportunities throughout the country on offer to students. The organisations that are offering opportunities include Australia Post – Sydney, Melbourne,

Melbourne Law School Internship Program - Applications now open

Internship opportunities for the forthcoming Summer are now open for applications.

These internship opportunities are arranged by Melbourne Law School for JD students who will be in their penultimate or final year in 2015. These opportunities must be undertaken as part of the Legal Internship subject. (The exception to this is the Department of Premier and Cabinet internship which is a paid internship and therefore not eligible for the subject.)

CLC Law Graduate Scheme 2015

The Federation is pleased to announce that applications for one position through the Community Legal Centre Law Graduate Scheme to commence in early 2015 are now open.  Applications close September 26, 2014.

This program will provide an opportunity for one law graduate to start their legal career in Victorian community legal centres. The Federation will pay for the law graduate’s Practical Legal Training course, starting in early 2015, and admission fees. Following admission, the graduate will undertake an eight month contract involving two placements in Victorian CLCs. Toward the end of the eight month period, the Federation will work with the graduate to identify ongoing employment opportunities within CLCs.

Who can apply for the 2015 position?

Law students who commenced their final semester of their law degree in 2014 can apply. Students who have graduated from law may also apply.

MLS careers consultants are available for 30 minute mock interview sessions.

These are available for students wishing to improve their interview techniques and answers in preparation for up and coming interviews.  Please bring hard copies of your documents.

Beyond Law School : Family Law Seminar

On Tuesday 26th August from 6:30-8:00pm in room 108 the LSS are hosting a BLS Family Law Seminar.  It will feature a family law judge, a family law barrister and a legal aid family lawyer.  It will be a Q&A style seminar where students can hear all about this area of law.
