GLSA Global Thinking Lecture: Judge Rowan Downing QC

The Global Law Students Association, supported by the APCML, invites you to the Global Thinking Lecture to be presented by Judge Rowan Downing QC, judge of the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC).  The lecture will be followed by a discussion chaired by Gerry Simpson.

Dean's Community Leadership Forum - Applications extended to 23 April

The Dean invites law students to apply to attend the 2012 Dean's Community Leadership Forum.

NOTE: The closing date for applications has been extended to Monday 23 April 2012.

This exciting full day Forum will give a small group of selected students the opportunity to meet highly regarded community leaders and hear from them about their own leadership experience and challenges. Students will be able to network with the speakers and each other to discuss a range of important topics including how to enhance advocacy and law reform strategies; philanthropy and donor relationships; creating strategic partnerships; grassroots campaigning and new media. There will be a focus on learning about and developing specific leadership skills.

Melbourne Law School's Later Law Students Network (LLSN) Official Launch

The Melbourne Law School's Later Law Students Network (LLSN) will be officially launched on Tuesday 17 April in Room 920, at 6:00pm.

The role of the LLSN is to provide a social space, career planning support, and a voice to Faculty for all students facing external challenges while completing their JD, including (but not limited to):

  • Mature-age students, or students returning to study after a significant period in work
  • Students with families or other caring responsibilities
  • Students juggling work and other financial commitments

Linklaters legal work experience opportunity based in Hong Kong now open!

Linklaters will launch the new Hong Kong Pathfinder program in June. It’s a one-day work experience program, targeting mainly 1st year Law undergraduate students.
