Child Wise Ltd is looking for a final year law student to fill the following position:
Four month, part-time (2-3 days per week) contract position working on a research project commissioned by the Victoria Law Foundation titled “Grooming: Exploring the call for law reform”.
• Represent Child Wise and its vision throughout the entirety of the project;
• Working in close cooperation with Project Manager;
• Assisting Project Manager in establishing limitations, challenges and timelines of the project;
• Assisting Project Manager in developing milestones and working with the Victoria Law Foundation;
• Conducting in-depth legal research and gathering information from legal databases, online resources, media reports and case studies;
• Organising, preparing and conducting interviews with relevant stakeholders and authorities working in the field, including, but not limited to: Victoria Police, Australian Federal Police, Child Protection Officers, Victoria Law Reform Committee (VLRC) and Australian Law Reform Committee (ALRC);
• Compiling all information, interviews and findings into a comprehensive report;
• Writing and editing the report, including establishing recommendations and measures for implementation;
• Assisting in publishing report and distributing to key stakeholders, government and legal bodies.
