The Government provides a wide array of career opportunities for law graduates, domestically and internationally.

But exactly what jobs might exist that you've never heard of?

This seminar will host 3 law graduates who have used their legal skills in very different positions in the Federal Government.

Rowan McRae, Principal Legal Officer, Office of Constitutional Law, Attorney-General's Department

Rowan McRae works in the Office of Constitutional Law in the Commonwealth Attorney-General’s Department, having also worked in international law and human rights within the Department.

Hannah Richardson, Analyst, The Treasury

Like many young law students, Hannah Richardson was drawn to human rights and international law – she interned for Judge Sir Adrian Fulford at the International Criminal Court, and worked at the Victorian Equal Opportunity & Human Rights Commission.  Having completed her Arts/Law degree in 2010, she now works in economic policy at the Australian Treasury, making a small contribution to addressing some of the biggest policy problems facing Australia.

Sean Mowbray, Senior Legal Counsel (Operations and CT), Australian Federal Police

Sean has been with AFP Legal since 2010, and is a senior lawyer in the Operations and Counter-Terrorism team.  His role involves advising and training AFP members on investigative powers, criminal offences and related issues.
