LIV: Ideas for Careers: Law Reform and Policy
Ideas for Careers: Law Reform and Policy
Monday, 23 April 2018 (5:30pm-7pm)
Law Institute of Victoria, 470 Bourke Street, Melbourne
How can you put all that you’ve learned as a law student, graduate or new lawyer into context? The Ideas for Careers series has been developed for just that purpose.
Focusing on law reform and policy, this session will give you an idea of what everyday working life is like in this area, as well as the opportunity to ask questions. This is a great way to discover how your skills might fit within law reform and policy and to meet new lawyers working in various law reform and policy careers.
After the panel discussion, you’ll have the opportunity to break up into small groups to have an honest discussion about the benefits and challenges of a career in this area, and take part in an interactive law reform case study problem solving session with our panelists.
With a special guest moderation, The Hon. Marcia Neave AO – please come along and listen to, meet, and learn about law reform with the following fantastic speakers we have:
- Lucy Adams, Manager and Principal Lawyer – Homeless Law, Justice Connect
- Jesse Taylor, President, Liberty Victoria
- Meghan Fitzgerald, Manager of Social Action – Policy and Law Reform, Fitzroy Legal Services
Afternoon tea will be provided.
Tickets are $35.00 for LIV Members, including law students. Please register for the event today
