Internship Opportunities at Human Rights Watch

Human Rights Watch (“HRW”) offers internship opportunities in many of our global offices.  Candidates may apply for the positions listed on our website based on their location, eligibility, and interest in the work of specific divisions and departments.  Internship descriptions vary but may include desk research, drafting documents, assisting with event planning, helping researchers prepare for missions, monitoring human rights developments in various countries, data analysis, liaising with current and prospective donors, and engaging in advocacy efforts aimed at curtailing human rights violations.

Internships are generally unpaid.  HRW internships often offer direct exposure to the workings of an international human rights organization, close supervision by the HRW staff, interaction with other international organizations and foreign and domestic government officials, and opportunities to attend lectures, trainings, and special events relating to human rights.
