2015 Traineeship Program with VGSO

The Victorian Government Solicitor's Office (VGSO) places great emphasis on our core values, professionalism and working together. During the recruitment process we look for candidates who are interested and committed to working in government, appreciate the importance of client responsiveness, demonstrate the requirements of acting as a model litigant, are friendly and take pride in their work.

The role of a Trainee Lawyer with the VGSO is wonderfully diverse, constantly challenging and extremely interesting. As a Trainee Lawyer, you will gain exposure to various facets of the legal system, with three-month rotations through four of our five legal Branches: Government & Public Law; Commercial, Property & Technology; Litigation & Dispute Resolution; Police and Workplace Relations & Occupational Safety.

We select candidates who are in their final year of study, are motivated, demonstrate initiative and good interpersonal skills, have strong academic results in a legal qualification, with lives that are balanced with varied interests.

At the successful completion of the VGSO's Traineeship Program, the Trainee Lawyers will be admitted to practice as a lawyer of the Supreme Court of Victoria.
