Research Participants Required - $20 Paid

Researchers at the Decision Neuroscience Laboratory at The University of Melbourne are looking for volunteers for an experiment looking at the cognitive mechanisms behind reward learning, decision making and time perception. Participants need to be between 18 and 35 years old, right-handed, and must speak and read English fluently.

The experiment investigates how people perceive time during the anticipation of reward. Participants will be asked to complete a computer-based task while we record some physiological signals (e.g. heart rate) using electrocardiography. Participants will also be asked to consume either an artificially sweetened solution (aspartame), or a carbohydrate solution (maltodextrin) during the task. The experiment will consist of one session, lasting approximately ninety minutes. The experiment takes place in the Redmond Barry Building at The University of Melbourne, Parkville.

Participants will be reimbursed $20 for their participation. For more information, please contact Bowen Fung at decision.neuro.melb@gmail.com.

The study is conducted by researchers at The University of Melbourne in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Services, and approved by the Human Research Ethics Committee of The University of Melbourne (project no. 1441974.1).
