Researchers at the Decision Neuroscience Lab are looking for volunteers for a study looking at how people make decisions during the anticipation of reward and how people optimise decision making by incorporating their perception of time. Participants need to be over 18 years old, fluent in spoken and written English, and must not have any dietary restrictions (as the consumption of artificial sweetener is a necessary part of this study).

Participants will be asked to complete a computer-based task that involves making a series of decisions. Participants will also be asked to consume either fruit juice, a fructose solution, an artificially sweetened solution (aspartame), or a carbohydrate solution (maltodextrin) during the task.

The experiment consists of a single session in the Redmond Barry Building at the University of Melbourne, Parkville. The entire session should take approximately sixty minutes, and no longer than ninety minutes.

Depending on your performance in the tasks, you will receive monetary reimbursement between $10 - $20. For more information, please contact Bowen Fung at decision.neuro.melb@gmail.com.

Please note that participation in this study is entirely voluntary. If you aren’t interested in this study that’s perfectly fine, and not participating won’t affect your future chances to take part in other studies that we are conducting. The Melbourne University Human Research Ethics Committee has approved this study (1441974.1).
