The Department of Transport offers an annual $10,000 scholarship to a female, full-time or part-time student starting or completing a Masters, PhD, or postgraduate degree in the freight, logistics and/or marine-related fields.
The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of relevant work experience, academic merit and level of commitment to a career in the freight, logistics and/or marine industries.
This award is aimed to encourage women into management positions within these industries. The winner will also be given the opportunity to participate in part-time work at the Department of Transport during the year.
There is no required study subject. Any subjects that are related to transport - freight, logistics and/or marine are appropriate. This scholarship applies to a variety of fields of research and there is no restricted requirement for one particular area. In the past applications have been received from a diverse range of students with a background in engineering, economics, marketing, international trade, law, business management, project management, management technology or maritime management - with interests in transport, freight, logistics, marine and sustainable development.

Eligibility
Open to Victorian women who are starting or undertaking Masters, PHD or postgraduate studies in the freight, logistics and/or marine-related fields. Candidates must be female, an Australian citizen and reside in Victoria to be eligible for the scholarship.
