We are seeking occasional casual smokers, who have consumed weekly for at least the past 2 years, to take part in our study, which examines the influence of nicotine use on the ability to control responses to rewarding stimuli. Participation in this project will involve 3 sessions on different days. This includes a follow-up session that will occur approximately 2 years in the future to assess changes in nicotine use. Session 1 will take place at the University of Melbourne (2 - 2.5 hours) and involve an online questionnaire and two simple computer-based cognitive tasks. During sessions 2 and 3 (1 - 1.5 hours), the same cognitive tasks will be administered during fMRI scanning at the Royal Children's Hospital.

We are looking to recruit 18-45 year old right handed participants. You will be paid $10 per hour for your time during session 1, and $20 per hour during sessions 2 & 3. You will also receive additional payments commensurate with task performance.
