MS Volunteer Community Visitor
Would you like to add value to the life of a resident or a group of residents in an Aged Care Facility? Or would you like to visit an older person in their home? This is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference is someone’s life, and also enjoy the friendship and shared companionship.
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is an auspice of the Community Visitor Scheme (CVS), an initiative funded by the Australian Government.CVS Volunteers visit residents in Aged Care homes in NSW & VIC either one-to-one or as a group.In some areas, CVS volunteers may visit older people in their own home.Volunteers provide companionship and friendship and reduce the effects of isolation.Volunteer visitors may share stories, go for a stroll, listen to music or play a game. As a CVS volunteer you play a vital role in improving the quality of life of the person through ongoing companionship.
Skills required
Warmth, a caring attitude, empathy, good communication skills however volunteers with other languages willing to be matched to same language very welcome.
Commitment
Reliability and a willingness to commit to at least fortnightly visits for a minimum of 12 months is important.

Training
Induction training provided before commencement at your own pace and in the comfort of your home either in a workbook format or online.
