Casual Academic Appointments with the title of Academic Learning Faculty Coordinator will be available at Ormond College for the Second Semester of 2011.
In Second Semester Ormond is seeking to consolidate its delivery of the Academic Learning stream of the Ormond Program of Learning, Leadership and Global Ethics through the appointment of 8 Faculty Coordinators who will work on a casual basis throughout the semester, to connect with the students in their faculty area and encourage their engagement in the Ormond Program.
These positions will be casual and awarded a stipend of up to $2000.00 for the semester. They will report to Dr Deb Hull, Associate Director of Academic Learning, and liaise with James Brown, the Touchstone Coordinator, who works with students who have specific learning needs. They will also liaise with other Ormond tutors and members of Learning & Community as required. In so doing they will play a pivotal role in ensuring that students are actively taking advantage of the various learning opportunities available within the Ormond Program such as the subject-specific tutorial program, the Academic Depth Workshops and the Supporting University Needs tutorials and consultations.
Looking for EIGHT Faculty Coordinators, two Arts and two in Science and one in each of the other faculties: Biomedicine, Commerce, Environments, Music and Science. The ideal candidates will have current or recent experience in teaching/tutoring and/or research within their particular faculty, an interest in the Ormond Program and a real passion for student learning.
