What is the w.comm forum?
A group of women politicians from all parliaments across Australia are taking action to encourage more women to enter politics.
So they are inviting 10 women aged between 18 and 25 to come to Parliament House in Canberra to share their thoughts on how to increase the number of women in parliament.
The forum will also be a chance for young Australian women to connect with the work of the Commonwealth, debate issues that matter to them, and network with female politicians.
How do I nominate?
To be able to participate in the w.comm forum you need to send a short presentation about yourself and the things that are important in your life and your community.
You can use text, photos, audio or video for your presentation. Using just one medium is fine but we encourage you to be as creative as possible.
Remember - this is not a job interview! It’s a chance for you to give an insight into your life and why you want to be involved in the forum. You will not be judged on the contents of your CV.
More info?
You can find more out about how to nominate and lots more besides at wcomm.org (website going live late May).
You can also get email: wcomm@aph.gov.au
Participants from across the country will be chosen to take part in the forum.
If you want to participate you will need to be ready to travel on Saturday August 20 to Canberra and you will be returning home on Tuesday August 23.
If you are selected to be part of the forum your accommodation, travel and most meals during the forum will be paid for.
