Hi! My name's Kate, I’m an honours student and I'm seeking participants to interview for my thesis research. The project looks at the ways in which we use texting to communicate socially, and interviews will be focussed on discussing both your own texting practises, and your thoughts on texting and society generally. In particular, I’m interested in the way we use texts to tell each other white lies, ones which allow us to avoid or delay social interaction. Like that time you said you were “out of range/asleep/only just saw the message”? Remember that? Yep, so come have a chat!
This is a unique opportunity to participate in graduate level research, reflect on the role of technology in your life and contribute to academic discussions about the role of communication technology in society. I’ll even flick you $15 cash in appreciation of your time, and offer you a copy of the finished thesis.
Participants must be at least 18 years of age and speak fluent English. Interviews will be conducted in person, are expected to last between 30mins to 1 hour, and can take place either at Melb University or another location of mutual convenience.
