Applications for the Aboriginal Pathway to the VPS Graduate Recruitment and Development Scheme are now open.

We have developed the Aboriginal Pathway to encourage and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander university graduates and final year tertiary students apply for the Victorian Graduate Recruitment and Development Scheme (GRADS) - a perfect start to a career serving Victorian communities.

The GRADS is a 12-month development program where you have the opportunity to learn about working in the public service and contribute to a variety of initiatives.

You are employed by one department or agency but you’ll get to experience placements in two more departments or agencies throughout the year.

Best of all, you are guaranteed a position with your home department and a promotion on successful completion of the program.

The Aboriginal Pathway recognises and respects your Aboriginality.

Through the Pathway you’ll meet other Aboriginal current and past graduates, link in with Indigenous networks and be offered an Aboriginal mentor.

We provide cultural awareness training for all the graduates, as well as your managers and supervisors.

Like all graduates, Aboriginal graduates are encouraged to apply for all the streams where you meet the minimum qualifications, including generalist, accounting and finance, economics, education, business and technology and law.
