Harness the talent, enrich the experience

This program is an initiative that provides on-campus professional employment opportunities to current University of Melbourne students. The program is designed to provide students with key employability skills whilst enhancing their engagement and connectivity to the University.

It was originally piloted in 2010, when students were professionally employed to work at the 13 MELB Contact Centre. Since then it has grown to include some 250 students, working in various departments and service points across the University. As a result of this, the University is now committed to significantly increasing the number of S@W members. Therefore, many more students can take advantage of this excellent program.

Students will gain meaningful experience in a dynamic and professional environment. They will also have exposure to different learning skills and they will build important networks across the University. Additionally, they earn high income rates and have the added advantage of a convenient and accessible location.

Students who are currently working on campus and hold a current University of Melbourne staff number are encouraged to register with the program via the S@W registration link.

To become eligible to register with the program, you must apply for and successfully secure one of the S@W positions / Internships that will be regularly advertised on careers online.
