The Onshore Recruitment Team in Future Students, Student and Scholarly Services is responsible for the recruitment of undergraduate students and works closely with prospective students, their schools and families. Students love to hear from students, so we're looking for undergraduate and graduate students to work as Student Ambassadors and assist with our student recruitment activities, including representing the University in conversations with prospective students as an ambassador and advocate.
Student Ambassadors are passionate about the University, conscientious in their delivery of customer service, organised and responsive to direction.
Student Ambassadors will perform a variety of tasks to support the Onshore Recruitment team. These tasks include:
- hosting campus tours for school groups,
- assisting at physical events, including with the set-up, running and pack down of event set up,
- assisting University staff where directed,
- speaking with prospective students and their parents at events,
- participating in moderated student panels for large audiences to discuss your experience at the University and your transition from high school,
- act as a peer mentor and share your knowledge and experience of life at the University with future students from select schools, and
- participating in overnight student camps.
This role is very flexible and can fit around most student’s university timetables. Student Ambassador shifts occur across the year at different periods and can include evening and weekend work. The majority of work will take place in-person on the Parkville campus, with occasional activity in schools in metropolitan Melbourne or regional Victoria or via Zoom. During peak periods, there may be multiple shifts available. In other weeks, there may be no shifts available.
