Are you a student with a social enterprise or innovative idea who wants to make a global impact? Project applications for the RISE Showcase and Awards are now open.
The RISE (Real Impact on Society and Environment) Showcase and Awards help students realise goals for ambitious projects by giving them access to a global audience of potential supporters.
Run by Universitas 21 (U21), the international showcase in sustainability and social innovation is designed to accelerate the scale and impact of student-led projects by connecting them with a network of experts in academia and industry.
The Awards offer winning teams a bespoke package of acceleration and professional development opportunities with a minimum value of $2000 per team.
As a U21 member, the University of Melbourne can nominate up to four student-led projects that are based on an aspect of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Last year, University of Melbourne students Eva Wu, Risin Dahanayake, Vishal Katwe, Nathan Lee, Mariam Hanna & Jason Li submitted their idea Cuple, a social enterprise that partners with cafes to reduce disposable plastic use. They received the Universitas 21 Provost’s Award for their submission.
