Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is seeking outstanding undergraduate students to participate in the six-week summer vacation scholarship program, and undertake research projects in areas as diverse as, cancer immunology, cell biology, cancer genomics & genetics and bioinformatics. Get involved in real-life laboratory-based research, and contribute to this exciting cancer research.
To be eligible, students should be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Science/ Applied Science/ Biomedical Science or other relevant tertiary course.
This year Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is only accepting applications from students who will have completed a minimum of 3 years of full time undergraduate study by the end of 2020.
Scholarships are for six weeks, or 30 days full-time (not including public holidays), with students receiving a tax-free payment of $250 per week (five working days).
This program is a great way for students to get involved in real-life biomedical research, and to get inspired about cancer research at postgraduate level and beyond. Students will be provided the opportunity to work on a specific project alongside postdoctoral scientists, senior researchers and other students in the laboratory. In doing so, students will gain experience in laboratory research, use state-of-the-art equipment and learn many new and exciting laboratory techniques.
