Impact Co. (www.impactco.com.au) will be running a 90 minute focus group for students to provide us with their opinion on a new service that supports students to become disability support workers, earning $32.50 per hour.

Students who participate will receive a $40 Woolworths/Myer gift card from Impact co.

Background:

Being a support worker for people with a disability can be a well-paid, flexible and a rewarding job. It can also provide students with relevant experience while studying, supporting you to get a job after university.

Disability support workers can earn $32.50 per hour for helping people with disabilities to do a range of activities, including shopping, attending community events, personal care, preparing meals and doing a range of other, everyday activities.

Being a disability support worker also provides you with a lot of flexibility, as it allows you to choose how many or how few hours you would like to work in any week. This means that you can fit the job around your study or your existing family or work commitments.

Purpose of focus group:

Impact Co. would like students from the University to share their opinions about becoming disability support workers and to test early stage prototypes for a new service to support students to become disability support workers.
