Every day, groups and individuals on campus are improving the University experience in unique and innovative ways. Awards presented by the Student Peer Leader Network aim to acknowledge and celebrate students who demonstrate a commitment to creating positive change on campus and in the community. Come along to gain insight into leadership on campus and connect with student leaders.

Special Guest Speaker: Vanessa Doake (Founder of Code Like a Girl)

Vanessa is a co-founder & COO of Code Like a Girl, a social enterprise driving change in the tech industry and inspiring a new generation of girls to pursue coding careers. A chameleon of sorts, she’s worked with organisations in the tech, legal, health, education and government sectors in human resources and business operations capacities.

Drinks and canapes will be served following the awards. Come along to network with award winners, student leaders, University staff and alumni.

Nominate someone for a Peer Leadership Award

Do you know of an outstanding individual or group of individuals who have displayed unique forms of leadership? Nominate yourself or your team for one of two leadership awards and receive a cash prize and professional mentoring experience.

Award categories:

  • Outstanding Individual Leader Award: Honours an individual who demonstrates remarkable leadership and a strong commitment to creating positive change within the University and/or the wider community.
  • Outstanding Group Leadership Award: Honours a group that is responsible for the development and execution of a project or initiative that significantly enhanced the social, educational, or cultural life of students and/or wider community.

Please note, you can only submit one nomination per award category in order to be considered eligible, you must be able to attend the awards night on Thursday 4 October. The deadline for nominations is Sunday 30 September.
