The U21 Global Ingenuity Challenge is a team-based global competition, where students present a 3- 5 minute video with ideas on how to address one of the 17 UN Sustainable Goals .Students who are interested in making a global difference, increasing their professional development and networking skills are encouraged to apply.
Each student on the winning team will win US $500. A grant of US $1,800 in funding will be available to the winning team should they wish to develop their submission into a tangible project.
As a founding member of the esteemed international Universitas 21 group, the University of Melbourne is currently seeking representatives for Stage 2 of the challenge.

The process
The competition requires a team of 3-5 students to address one of the 17 UN Sustainable Goals, through a 3-minute video submission. Click here to view previous entries.
Video production support will be provided by The University of Melbourne.
To take part
You can apply as a team of 3-5,
OR,
individuals can apply solely, and will later be allocated to a group if successful.
A total of four teams will be selected to represent The University of Melbourne.

Each group member must apply individually while noting the group name for ease of processing.

26- 30 March
- Groups are required to meet at a workshop on making a competitive submission, video production support, effective communication, narrative & a U21 Challenge overview.
- The workshop will be run and facilitated by The University of Melbourne at the Parkville campus.
6 April
The University of Melbourne will nominate the representative teams directly to Universitas 21
6 -18 April
Existing and recently acquainted teams will have the opportunity to discuss ideas and get to know each other in preparation the official challenge period.
18 April – 9 May
Teams will gain access to IngenuityOnline software to work on the challenge within 2 weeks (official challenge period) of this 3-week period. IngenuityOnline software must be used.
The 3-minute video pitch must be uploaded at the end of the two-week period.
11 May
All videos released for adjudication and Peers’ Choice Award.
14 May – 1 June

Debrief and reflection with all groups
